PASSIONATE ABOUT THE DINING EXPERIENCE

Owner-manager Michel Toledano, who was born in Morocco and raised in Paris, has long envisioned a restaurant that evoked the beautiful gastropubs and brasseries he loved in Europe. He opened a successful Continental restaurant in Liege, Belgium, before coming to the United States to join his family’s vending-machine company. Soon he was adding New Jersey restaurants to his roster, including OPorto BBQ in Berkeley Heights and the former Mosaica in Vauxhall, where he first began serving the French Moroccan cuisine that defined his childhood.

Owner-proprietor Dr. Jeffrey Miller shares a deep passion for exceptional food and drink with his close friend, Michel. Jeffrey has traveled the world visiting restaurants and wineries in order to incorporate their collective vision into the Atlas gastropub concept. He is a Maître Restaurateur member of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the international food and wine organization. Jeffrey was brought up in the food industry. He started out in his family’s New York City catering business and later conceptualized, built and managed the Bacchanalia coffeehouse while attending Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck.

Partners Monty Melwani, Francis Rodriguez, David Kostus and Ryan Mimmo brought an enthusiasm for Jersey City and local craft beer. They were all proud to see their vision realized when Atlas opened in 2016.
